You clutch may work for a while at 4000rpm as it was slipping for a while, got higher temperature and better grip, but still warming up due to slipping and at certain temperature lost the grip at all. In my opinion the clutch disc has to be replaced as well as the bearing. If the Check Parking Brake Error has gone, replace the Red cover you removed and re-fit the boot carpet. Now start your car and use the handbrake pull leaver that you would normally use to manually apply the handbrake, you should hear a winding noise coming from the Renaults boot, when the brake has finished push thebutton and pull it again to release the handbrake and fingers crossed the error message will have gone. ![]() When the cover has been removed look for a handle to pull, the handle on my Renault Scenic was yellow, yours may be different. Open the Boot, lift out the carpet, and just behind the rear seat you will find a Red cover, I used a flat screwdriver to pry this off, but be careful not to damage the cover as you will want to replace it after fixing the parking brake.
